Authorities plan to conduct a July Fourth traffic enforcement initiative in Jo Daviess County. The initiative will focus on identifying impaired and unbuckled drivers, according to the Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Department. A press release states that the initiative will run from Friday, June 20, through July 7. The initiative is part of a statewide effort involving the Illinois State Police and more than 200 local police and sheriff’s departments. The “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over,” “Drive High Get a DUI” and “Click It or Ticket” campaigns are supported by federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
