On Friday (June 20), Brandon Lake surprised Jelly Roll with the exciting news that their recent hit collaboration, “Hard Fought Hallelujah,” has been certified Platinum by the RIAA, marking sales of at least one million units. The song is featured on Lake’s new album, King of Hearts, and achieved Platinum status even before the album’s release on June 13. The track cracked the Top 40 on Billboard’s Hot 100, and reached the Top 15 on the Hot Country Songs chart. “We were just talking about this like six months ago,” Jelly Roll exclaimed in the clip capturing the moment, before adding, “This might be my favorite plaque I’ve ever had.” Lake has previously shared that he was inspired to collaborate with Jelly Roll due to the song’s lyrics matching his checkered personal story, leading to a close friendship and mutual respect between the two musicians.
