On Thursday at 11:52am, the Sheriff’s Office was notified of a motorcycle found crashed in the ditch in the 2500 block of County O, in Harrison Township. No one was located with the motorcycle. Shortly after, the Sheriff’s Office was notified that the motorcycle driver was at Southwest Health Center receiving treatment for injuries. It was determined that 63-year-old Daniel Giesen of Stoughton was driving his motorcycle westbound on County O, when he failed to negotiate a curve and laid the motorcycle down on its left side. Giesen and the motorcycle then slid off the roadway and into the ditch on the north side of the road where they both came to rest. Another individual, who had been riding with Giesen, gave him a ride to the hospital. Giesen was wearing full protective gear and received an injury to his arm. The motorcycle sustained moderate damage. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Platteville Fire Department and Southwest Health EMS.
