On Tuesday [June 17] at 6:47am, the Grant County Dispatch Center took a report of a 2-vehicle crash with blockage at the intersection of Hwy 80 and Hwy 11, in Hazel Green. 68-year-old Patricia Carius of Benton, was driving west on Hwy 11 approaching the intersection of Hwy 80. 28-year-old Jose Rodriguez Ponce of Rockford, was driving his truck hauling a construction trailer North on Hwy 80 approaching the intersection with Hwy 11. Hazel Green EMS responded to the scene and transported Carius to Southwest Health Center for treatment of injuries. Ponce and his 5 passengers were uninjured. Both vehicles and the construction trailer had to be towed from the scene. Carius was cited for failure to yield from a stop sign.
