A man wanted for allegedly stealing a truck in Iowa was found in Richland County, Wisconsin, earlier this week, deputies reported on Wednesday. Richland County deputies were called around 10:30 a.m. on Monday to check on a man who appeared to be sleeping in a black pickup truck along Highway 14, somewhere between Gotham and Lone Rock. Iowa County Dispatch notified Richland County officials that the black pickup truck matched the description of a truck stolen from Iowa. Officials said the suspect in the case was 40-year-old Ryan D. Troendale of Waukon, Iowa man, and warned he should be considered a threat to law enforcement based on his history with officers. A Richland Co. deputy found the truck based on its description at Highway 14 and Tessa Drive, and ordered the driver to get out of the truck. The deputy stayed back a distance for safety reasons. Troendale got out of the vehicle, and a deputy reported telling him to put his hands on the bed of the truck. The driver allegedly refused to follow the order, and continued to not follow commands when a second deputy arrived. Richland Co. Sheriff’s Office said deputies confirmed the identity of the driver. They also determined the truck was the same one stolen from Iowa. Deputies reported needing to use a taser to take Troendale into custody. Troendale faces a charge of resisting or obstructing, and other charges could be possible. Authorities notified the owner of the truck that they found it and returned it on Tuesday.
