On Sunday at 2:18 AM An officer with the Dodgeville Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a UTV on North Union Street near East Division Street in Dodgeville. Due to a history of anti-law enforcement sentiment and physically combative behavior by the driver of the UTV, additional units from the City of Dodgeville and the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office were immediately dispatched to assist. During the course of the stop the driver, 47-year-old Collin Giddings of Ridgeway did become physically combative. As a result of the traffic stop and subsequent combativeness by Giddings, he was arrested for Intoxicated Operation of an ATV, Misdemeanor Bail Jumping and Resisting or Obstructing an Officer. He was transported to the Iowa County Jail where he was booked and later released on bond.
