Deceased individual found in Grant County died of natural causes

A man was found dead near the 7800 block of Highway 80 in the Town of Lima on Friday morning, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office reported Monday. The sheriff’s office took report of the deceased man lying on the ground at around 7:25 a.m. Southwest Health Center EMS and Grant County deputies were dispatched to the scene. It was determined that 23-year-old William Schaefer was the man found dead. He died due to an underlying medical condition outside his property, according to the sheriff’s office. The Melby Funeral Home & Crematory of Platteville, is serving the family with services later this week.
