Tuition at Wisconsin’s public universities would increase by up to five percent under a proposal from the university system’s president announced Tuesday. Universities of Wisconsin President Jay Rothman put forward a four-percent increase for all universities, with an option for an additional one-percent increase. Rothman said all universities in the system except UW-Green Bay plan to adopt the additional one-percent increase. The UW Board of Regents will consider the plan during a meeting Thursday. Rothman said UW-River Falls will also ask for an additional increase to bring its increase to 5.8%.
