The father of a teenager who opened fire at Abundant Life Christian School last December was bound over for trial Thursday. 43-year-old Jeffrey Rupnow is charged with two felony counts of intentionally selling dangerous weapons to a minor and one felony count of contributing to child delinquency. During a preliminary hearing Thursday, Rupnow’s attorney moved to dismiss the count of contributing to child delinquency, arguing that prosecutors had no evidence that Rupnow gave his daughter the gun used in the shooting or had knowledge of her plans to commit the shooting. Circuit Court Commissioner John Rome denied the motion, finding probable cause and binding the case over for trial. Rupnow’s daughter was the shooter who killed two and injured six others at Abundant Life Christian School on Dec. 16, 2024 before dying by suicide. Prosecutors allege Rupnow allowed his daughter to have easy access to guns despite knowing about her mental health issues and concerning activities.
