On Wednesday the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop in Prairie du Chien. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 38-year-old Edward Strand of Prairie du Chien. Strand’s driver’s license was revoked, and he displayed indicators of drug impairment. Subsequently, Strand was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a restricted controlled substance (2nd Offense) and operating a motor vehicle with a revoked driver’s license. Following the traffic stop, law enforcement personnel searched Strand’s apartment for illegal narcotics because of Strand’s probation. The search resulted in the discovery of methamphetamine, psilocybin mushrooms, drug paraphernalia, and THC concentrate. Strand received additional charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of psilocybin mushrooms, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of THC concentrate, and violation of probation. 33-year-old Hannah Pratt of Waukon, Iowa, was present at Strand’s apartment, and she too was arrested and transported to the Crawford County Jail on charges of possession of methamphetamine and felony bail-jumping. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Prairie du Chien Police Department.
