A southwest Wisconsin man has been sentenced to five years in prison and five years of extended supervision after police said he repeatedly sexually assaulted a child. 23-year-old Alexander T. Ortez-Martinez of Platteville, recently received the sentence in Lafayette County Circuit Court after pleading guilty to one count of repeated sexual assault of the same child. The charges stem from an incident in September 2023 in which Ortez-Martinez was arrested on a charge of repeated sexual assault. Per the sentence, Ortez-Martinez must register as a sex offender.
