On Sunday at 7:44 PM Deputies, Gratiot First, Gratiot Fire, and Green County EMS responded to the Cheese Country Trail in the Village of Gratiot for a UTV accident. 58-year-old Mark A. Salathe of Gratiot was travelling on the trail when he failed to stop at the stop sign, failed to negotiate a turn and was thrown out of the UTV. Salathe was transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries sustained during the crash. Salathe’s UTV received functional damage and was driven from the scene. Salathe was cited for Operating a UTV While Intoxicated (1st Offense). Wisconsin DNR assisted on scene.
