The Wisconsin Department of Health Services has confirmed nine cases of measles in Oconto County, marking the first cases in the state this year. These cases were linked to a common source during out-of-state travel. Testing at the Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene confirmed one case, while eight others were identified based on exposure and symptoms. The Department of Health Services, in collaboration with Oconto County Public Health, is actively working to identify and notify individuals who may have been exposed to the virus. No public points of exposure have been identified, and officials assure the community that the risk remains low.
