Authorities said one person died and three were injured in a Clayton County crash involving a pickup truck and two UTV’s. According to an Iowa State Patrol crash report, 62-year-old Ricky Thurn of Edgewood died. 56-year-old Perry Peterson of Manchester, was airlifted to University of Iowa Health Care Medical Center for treatment. 69-year-old James Bunting and 63-year-old Lori Bunting both of Edgewood, were transported by ambulance to MercyOne Elkader Medical Center for treatment. The report states that James Bunting, passenger Lori Bunting, and Thurn were operating UTV’s on Glacier Road near Faucet Road. The UTV’s were parked northbound on Glacier Road. Thurn was standing at the driver’s side door of the Buntings’ utility vehicle just after 5 PM Monday when Peterson’s southbound pickup truck struck him. Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
