An Iowa County traffic stop leads to a pursuit and arrest. Early Tuesday evening an Iowa County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant conducted a traffic stop on Highway 18/151 in Ridgeway, about one mile east of County Highway YZ. After speaking the with officer, the driver, identified as 30-year-old Jeremy T. Brown of Madison fled the scene at a high rate of speed. A pursuit ensued, but the officer terminated the pursuit when Brown entered a construction zone where workers were present. Brown drove in the closed portion of the highway toward four construction workers before altering his course and continuing through the area. Later that evening, Middleton Police Department took Brown into custody in the and he is currently being held in the Dane County Jail. Brown is charged with Resisting or Obstructing an Officer, Speeding in a Work Area, Vehicular eluding, Excessive Window Excessive), 1st-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Criminal Damage to Property, Failure to Attach Registration Tag, and Hit and Run. Other charges are likely through the Iowa County District Attorney’s Office.
