Sen. Sanders held weekend town hall in Viroqua

Senator Bernie Sanders and congressional candidate Rebecca Cooke held a town hall in Viroqua Saturday. The meeting focused on income inequality, government spending, and corporate power. Sanders urged supporters to think beyond opposition and consider what policies they want to advance. Before the event, members of the Vernon County Republican Party and local residents demonstrated nearby. They described their protest as peaceful and aimed at opposing socialism and Sanders’ “Fighting Oligarchy” tour.
