On Monday at 6:20pm, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office took a report of a three-vehicle crash on Hwy 80 north of Livingston, in Clifton. Deputies from Grant and Iowa County responded to the scene. 28-year-old Trevor Weiland of Cassville, was southbound on Hwy 80in a truck towing an empty bale moving trailer. Weiland was slowing down and had signaled to turn left to enter a field drive. 30-year-old Christopher Faucet of Livingston, was traveling behind Wieland and did not realize Weiland was slowing down to turn. Fawcett attempted to avoid hitting Weiland’s trailer, but he ended up striking the rear of the trailer. Fawcett’s vehicle then crossed the centerline and struck a northbound vehicle driven by 56-year-old Robin Wagner of Montfort. Both Fawcett and Wagner sustained serious injuries and were transported to Southwest Health Center by Montfort EMS. Fawcett had to be extricated from his vehicle by Montfort Fire. Both vehicles suffered heavy damage and were towed from the scene. Fawcett was cited for inattentive driving and for operating without insurance. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by Montfort Fire, Livingston Fire, Livingston First Responders, and the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office.
