The Archdiocese of Dubuque issued a statement following Wednesday’s deadly school shooting in Minneapolis. A statement was posted from Archbishop Thomas Zinkula on Thursday afternoon: “I am heartbroken to learn of the tragic shooting during Holy Mass at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis. To think that such violence took place in a sacred space meant for peace and communion makes the sorrow even deeper. My heart aches for the young lives lost, the children and elderly who were injured, their families, and all who now carry this burden of grief. May Christ bring healing and peace.” A gunman opened fire at the school Wednesday, killing two children and injuring 18 others.
