Nearly eight years after the 2017 Route 91 Harvest Festival shooting in Las Vegas, Jason Aldean opened up about the tragic experience on a recent appearance on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast. Performing during the massacre that claimed 60 lives and injured over 800, Aldean described the shock of returning home to a distraught family, before making a memorable appearance on Saturday Night Live. “Sunday morning, I was on a flight going back to Las Vegas to go to the hospital and see all the victims. That was tough,” Aldean shared. “People hadn’t recovered from their wounds yet.” Despite continuing his tour and welcoming the birth of his son shortly after, he struggled privately with grief. “I kind of broke down thinking about just all the people that I could have lost, all the people that we did lose as far as fans,” Aldean shared. He revealed that the tragedy will “forever connect us to that city,” and he hopes to do a Vegas residency someday. (People)
