The drop in the price of butter on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange is concerning for dairy producers. However, consumers could see a benefit if retailers rollout more aggressive butter promotions for the upcoming holidays according to Dairy Analyst Katie Burgess.
U.S. butter is the cheapest in the world and have recently reached their high levels since 2014. Imports remain strong with popular brands like Ireland’s Kerry Gold and grass-fed butters having a foothold in American Grocery Stores.
