A Milwaukee man who police said held a woman at gunpoint in Dubuque was sentenced to more than three years in federal prison for a firearm conviction. 38-year-old Mickey L. Miller received the sentence after previously pleading guilty to one count of possession of a firearm by a felon. According to a press release, Miller was sentenced to 41 months of imprisonment with a three-year term of supervised release after the prison term. Information in a plea agreement and at the sentencing hearing showed that on Oct. 16 in Dubuque, Miller pointed a loaded gun at a woman and threatened to kill her and others. Miller was taken into custody that night. The release states that Miller has assaulted jail staff on numerous occasions since October and he has a prior felony conviction for robbery with threat of force.
