On Friday, just before 3 PM, the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office received a report that a man had fallen out of a tree-stand. Law enforcement, medical, and fire personnel responded to the scene on Ducharme Ridge Road. First responders located, 67-year-old Mark Prestrud of Rosemount, Minnesota, in a wooded area lying on the ground beneath a portable tree-stand. He had fallen an estimated 20 to 25 feet and was severely injured. A landing zone was established in a nearby field for Gundersen Air. First responders carried him out of the woods, and he was airlifted from the scene.
