Jurors have begun deliberating in an attempted murder case against two men charged in connection with the October 2024 stabbing of a Loras College student. 23-year-old Gabriel Dominguez of Sherrill, Iowa, and 23-year-old Scott M. Wessels of Dubuque, both are charged in Dubuque County with attempted murder, willful injury causing serious injury, conspiracy to commit a forcible felony and going armed with intent in relation to the stabbing of 21-year-old Hunter Guyon. Jurors began deliberating Monday and resumed their deliberations this morning. A conviction of attempted murder can carry a sentence of up to 25 years in prison in Iowa.
