Former Lancaster Mayor David Varnam announces campaign for Lieutenant Governor of Wisconsin

Former Lancaster Mayor David Varnam officially announced his candidacy this morning for the 2026 Republican nomination for lieutenant governor of Wisconsin. David Varnam is the former mayor of Lancaster, former congressional aide, and former federal policy analyst at Focus on the Family for Dr. James Dobson. Varnam served three terms as mayor. He was one of eight candidates that qualified for the lieutenant governor primary ballot in 2022, receiving the most votes in Grant and Lafayette County. Varnam is a pro-life, pro-Second Amendment conservative Republican. According to a press release he plans to travel throughout Wisconsin to hear directly from Wisconsin residents.
