Dubuque County jurors on Tuesday found two men guilty of multiple charges in the October stabbing of a Loras College student — but not guilty of attempted murder. 23-year-old Gabriel Dominguez of Sherrill, Iowa, and 23-year-old Scott M. Wessels of Dubuque, were convicted in Iowa District Court of Dubuque County of four charges each: assault with intent to inflict serious injury, willful injury causing serious injury, conspiracy to commit a forcible felony and going armed with intent, all in relation to the stabbing of 21-year-old Hunter Guyon, 21. Both men initially were charged with attempted murder but were found not guilty by the jury. Jurors deliberated for roughly seven hours before rendering the unanimous verdict at about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.
