On Friday, the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit (Diego) initiated a traffic stop in Soldiers Grove. The K9 Handler observed drug paraphernalia, and a search of the vehicle was conducted. A plastic baggie containing several grams of cocaine and a loaded handgun were located in the vehicle. The driver, 37-year-old Joshua Emmer of La Crosse was arrested and transported to the Crawford County Jail on charges of possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Emmer is also being referred on charges of felon in possession of a firearm. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office.
