The controversial dog breeding facility Ridglan Farms is now facing possible legal action after refusing to settle a $55,000 civil forfeiture tied to hundreds of alleged violations of state animal welfare laws. According to the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP), Ridglan had until 4:30 p.m. Friday to agree to the penalty. On Saturday, the Department confirmed that the facility declined the stipulation and the case is now being referred to the Dane County District Attorney’s Office.
