The family of Samuel (Samy) Garduno-Martinez has organized a GoFundMe to support his recovery after being injured in a school shooting at Abundant Life Christian School last December. Samuel (Samy) Garduno-Martinez was a senior at the Madison Christian school when a 15-year-old girl opened fire on Dec. 16, 2024, injuring six others and killing two individuals. The GoFundMe campaign states that Samy has been receiving treatment at American Family Children’s Hospital since the shooting. He was shot two, possibly three, times in the head, as well as once in his right arm and once in his lower back. Samy will require 24-hour care. The next step in his recovery will be an admission at a specialized rehabilitation hospital near Chicago. The fundraiser has a $140,000 goal.
