The Grant County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a hit and run that damaged a local cemetery. During the early morning of Monday, October 6, a hit and run occurred at the Blakes Prairie Cemetery at the intersection of Hwy 133 and Spruce Road in Bloomington. Evidence at the scene shows that a red colored dually truck entered the cemetery and struck the entrance pillar. Red paint was scraped from the passenger dually fender flare and black plastic was also scraped from the passenger side mirror. The pillars that were damaged were just replaced by volunteers with over $3,000 in materials invested. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.
