In a unanimous decision last week, Platteville Common Council approved a resolution expressing the city’s support for Dubuque’s efforts to retain commercial air service. A council memo prepared by City Manager Clint Langreck says, “The Dubuque Regional Airport is a vital transportation hub for the tri-state area, including Platteville and surrounding communities. The airport supports regional economic development, tourism, higher education access and business connectivity.” The resolution expresses support for Dubuque’s efforts to retain and expand commercial air service and authorizes Langreck to collaborate with regional partners in promoting these efforts, but it does not include any financial contribution to the efforts.
