Intersection closed temporarily following semi hitting a traffic light

Friday evening the Iowa County Communications Center received multiple reports of a traffic light being struck by a semi-truck at the intersection of Highway 18 and North Bequette Street in Dodgeville. The intersection was temporarily closed after the traffic light fell into the roadway. The Iowa County Sheriff’s Office, Dodgeville Police Department, Dodgeville Fire Department, and Dodgeville EMS responded to the scene. Emergency personnel safely removed the traffic light from the intersection, and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation later arrived to complete necessary repairs.
