In July, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office received a $2000 grant from the We Energies Foundation to support its efforts to equip all of the squad cars assigned to a patrol function with an AED. The Sheriff’s Office is working to obtain funding to put a Zoll AED Plus in all of the patrol squads. This will provide deputies the tools to assist with EMS-related calls, specifically cardiac-related events because they are often able to respond more quickly, arriving on scene before EMS units. As of Monday, the Sheriff’s Office has obtained six Zoll AED Plus units and will be placing them in service soon.
