Just before 6 PM on Monday, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office took a report of a two-vehicle crash in Blue River, at the intersection of Dayton Street and North East Street. 41-year-old Bryan Weller of Blue River, was traveling east on Dayton Street and stopped at the intersection of North East Street. Weller stated he looked both directions and then pulled out into the intersection, but he did not see a vehicle driven by 68-year-old Mark Zierfus of Blue River, traveling on North East Street. Zierfus was not able to stop his vehicle in time and collided with the front passenger side of Weller’s vehicle. Zierfus was transported to Richland Center Hospital for suspected injuries from the crash. Weller was issued a citation for Failure to Yield Right of Way from a Stop Sign. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Blue River Fire and EMS.
