Major League Baseball has secured new three-year media rights agreements with NBC, Netflix and ESPN following the end of ESPN’s 35-year run with national games. NBC Sports will take over ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball and Wild Card rights, creating year-round Sunday programming with NFL, NBA and MLB games. Netflix will broadcast the annual Home Run Derby, opening night game and revived Field Of Dreams game in Dyersville, Iowa. ESPN retains 30 regular-season games and acquires MLB.TV streaming service, gaining exclusive local streaming rights for six teams including the San Diego Padres and Cleveland Guardians. (Story URL)
