There’s a difference between a headlight and a flashlight. The Door County Sheriff’s Office is pointing that out after pulling a vehicle over this weekend for speeding. When deputies examined the vehicle Friday night, they noticed it was missing a headlight that was replaced by a handheld flashlight. The sheriff’s office acknowledged that the replacement was “an attempt” to help with nighttime visibility but stated that a flashlight is neither a safe nor legal substitute for a working headlight. There’s no word on whether the driver was cited for the flashlight use.
