Darlington Mayor doesn’t seek reelection

The Darlington Mayor will not run for reelection. In a recent announcement on their website the City of Darlington Mayor Mike McDermott has notified the city he will not seek reelection. McDermott’s term ends April 2026.  If a citizen wishes to become a candidate and have their name appear on the election ballot for the office of Mayor all necessary forms must be filed with the City of Darlington by no later than 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2026.
