Two Southwest Wisconsin Dairy Processors are recipients of a Dairy Business Builder Grant from the Dairy Business Innovation Alliance. Moundview Dairy of Platteville and Uplands Cheese of Dodgeville were each selected to receive $100,000. Moundview Diary will be purchasing two 1500 gallon tanks to increase storage capacity for byproducts such as salted whey. The company specializes in crafting authentic Hispanic cheese. Uplands Cheese will use the money to help modernize their cheese plant and upgrade their food safety programs. 42 small and medium, size diary businesses across the Midwest received almost $4.6 million in grants.
