Special committee formed to investigate Wisconsin DOJ

A special committee will investigate the Wisconsin Department of Justice. Senate Majority Leader Devin LeMahieu announced Monday that the Special Committee on Oversight of the Department of Justice will look into the “operations, priorities, and external influences affecting” the DOJ and will issue a final report on April 14, 2026. LeMahieu didn’t cite any specific actions by the DOJ that warranted the creation of the new committee.
