Bears Care, the Chicago Bears charitable organization, has donated $25,000 to River Bend Food Bank. Officials said the Quad Cities Community Foundation’s Hunger Relief Fund matched the gift, doubling it to $50,000. The doubled donation will provide 250,000 meals for the 23 counties River Bend Food Bank serves, officials said. Amazon’s TNF For Good initiative awarded $250,000 to both the Chicago Bears and the Philadelphia Eagles to combat food insecurity in their respective cities, officials said. Along with River Bend, officials said Bears Care distributed donations to Central Illinois Food Bank, Eastern Illinois Food Bank, Greater Chicago Food Depository, Northern Illinois Food Bank, St. Louis Area Food Bank and Tri-State Food Bank.
