One person was arrested for second–offense OWI following a crash in Willow Springs Township. Early Tuesday morning a Lafayette County Deputy, Darlington Fire, and Lafayette County EMS responded to King RD in Willow Springs Township for a one vehicle accident. 35-year-old David E. Villalta-Renderos, of Belmont was traveling on County G when he lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway, struck a mailbox and continued driving. Villalta-Renderos was later located on Russell RD in Kendall Township. Villalta-Renderos reported minor injuries. Villalta-Renderos’ vehicle received disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Villalta-Renderos was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated 2nd Offense, Operating Without a Valid License 2nd Offense, and a valid Lafayette County Warrant. Villalta-Renderos was transported to Lafayette County Jail where he was booked and remains. Villalta-Renderos was also cited for No Insurance, Possession of Open Intoxicants, and Hit and Run. Belmont Police and Belmont EMS assisted.
