One person was cited following a crash in Benton Township. Early Saturday morning a Lafayette County deputy, Benton Fire, Benton First Response and Hazel Green EMS responded to Highway 11 in Benton Township for a one–vehicle accident. 53-year-old Craig A. Habben of Gilmore City, Iowa was travelling on Highway 11 when he lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway, struck a guardrail, entered the ditch and came to a stop after striking a tree. Habben was transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries sustained in the crash. Habben’s vehicle received disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Habben was cited for Failure to Maintain Control, Possession of Open Intoxicants, and Obstruction.
