The Lansing car ferry has reopened earlier than expected. Repairs for a mechanical issue with the connected tug boat were resolved Thursday morning. Clayton Burke, District Staff Engineer for Iowa DOT said, “The City of Cassville got mechanics on site last night and found that it was a smaller issue than anticipated. The mechanics fixed it quickly, and the ferry was back in service this morning.” The ferry was originally expected to be out of service until Friday.
