Maynard James Keenan has spoken out in support of Gen. Randy George after the former Army chief was pushed into early retirement. The message came after George’s departure became public, turning a personal connection from decades ago into part of a larger national story.
Keenan said the two go back to their time at West Point Prep, where they were classmates and ran cross-country together. In his remarks, he described George as someone who stood by him during an important turning point in his life.
That support, Keenan explained, came when he decided not to continue on the military path expected of him. He said George was one of the few people who understood that choice at the time. Now, with George facing a difficult and very public moment, Keenan used his platform to return that loyalty.
