Former Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes ended his campaign for governor on Thursday. Barnes announced his decision in a video posted to social media, saying “it is very clear who our nominee is going to be.” He did not formally endorse any candidate but said it was time to unify and defeat Republican Tom Tiffany. The move comes after a poll from the Marquette University Law School showed that just 16% of Democratic primary voters would side with Barnes while 38% would vote for Rep. Francesca Hong. Barnes previously ran for Senate, narrowly losing to Sen. Ron Johnson.
