Ben Carson speaking at UW-Madison

Former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Dr. Ben Carson will speak at UW-Madison next week, organizers announced Tuesday. Carson, who first earned fame for his work as a neurosurgeon at Johns Hopkins, will give a lecture at 6 p.m. in Varsity Hall II at Union South. In the lecture, titled “The American Dream is Alive,” Carson will look back on his career and discuss topics like faith, personal responsibility and the American Dream. The lecture will be free and open to the public, and there will be a live Q&A after. Carson served as U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development during Donald Trump’s first presidential term after previously running against Trump in the 2016 Republican primary.
