Second Harvest Foodbank is cleaning up after its property was vandalized overnight Tuesday into Wednesday, leaving broken windows and doors, two damaged vehicles and a delivery truck destroyed by fire. Madison police are investigating whether the incident is connected to about a dozen copper and scrap metal thefts after finding copper wire in the back of the burned truck. Second Harvest said it had not identified anything stolen during the latest incident. The connection has not been confirmed, and the cause of the fire remains unknown. The damage forced Second Harvest to cancel two days of volunteer shifts, losing approximately 200 hours of help. However, the food bank says it is continuing to distribute food to its partners across 16 counties. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Madison Area Crime Stoppers.
