A Prairie du Chien man is facing multiple charges after police say he stole a vehicle, along with a pair of handguns and 100 rounds of ammo, and then led authorities on a high-speed chase in southern Crawford County. According to a police report, 31-year-old Christopher Easterling was spotted driving a vehicle that matched the description of a vehicle that was reported stolen. When officers attempted to pull Easterling over, he sped away and went thru a ditch. Police followed his tire tracks in the snow to a residence along Cass Street. When officers came to the home, Easterling fled on foot – which led to a brief chase. The police report shows Easterling faces charges of eluding, operating a vehicle without owners’ consent, operating with a revoked license, possession of a schedule-four narcotic, possession of drug paraphernalia and failing to obey traffic signals. Additional charges are expected.
