The latest figures from the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development show 2 of the state’s top 3 counties for lowest unemployment rate are in southwest Wisconsin. The new report lists Lafayette County with the lowest unemployment rate in the state at 3.4-percent for December – while Grant County has the third lowest rate state-wide at 3.9-percent. Iowa and Richland Counties are also among the top 10 lowest rates in the state. Iowa County is tied with two other counties at 4-and-a-half percent. Richland County is tied with 4 other counties at 4.6-percent. Crawford County ranks in the bottom third of the state with an unemployment rate of 6.5-percent.
