Badgers beat Buckeyes, on to the National Championship

ERIE, Penn. – It only took 79 seconds for Wisconsin to take the lead in their Frozen Four semifinal.

Makenna Webster put home Casey O’Brien’s pass to put the Badgers up 1-0 in the first period. Then in the second, O’Brien and Caitlin Schneider would each tally goals and UW was looking at a 3-0 lead.

Ohio State would cut it to 3-2 late in the third period, but Daryl Watts would score on an empty net to put the game away. Schneider finished with 1 goal and 2 assists.

Wisconsin advances to their ninth national championship game. They’ll face Northeastern Saturday night at 6:30 P.M. The game will be televised on ESPNU.
