Two officials with the Bagley Volunteer Fire Department are both facing theft charges. According to a Grant County Sheriff’s Office report, the charges have been filed against the department’s secretary-treasurer – 57-year-old Jodi Moris of rural Mt Hope – and the department’s fire chief – 31-year-old Ryne Jackley of Bagley. Authorities say a local bank notified the Grant County Sheriff’s Office about suspicious activity on the Bagley Volunteer Fire Department’s accounts. Following an investigation that began in March, which included an audit of the fire department’s accounts, charges were filed with the Grant County District Attorney’s office. Moris is facing a felony charge of theft of more than $10-thousand dollars from a business setting. Jackley faces a misdemeanor theft charge of stealing less than $25-hundred dollars from a business setting. Village officials confirmed that Jackley and Moris have resigned from their positions with the Bagley Volunteer Fire Department.
